virus attack!
has been a while since this blog has been updated. that's bcoz the past week has been crazy.....
last Wed evening, rachel came down with high fever which lasted through the night (even after taking medicine and sponging), so on thursday morning, i had to take emergency leave to take her to see the doc as her fever was still high. she had mild diaherrea (loose stools) but still wasnt that bad and frequent. the doctor gave her suppository to bring down the fever.. the doc said it was viral attack. on thurs afternoon, her diaherrea worsen.. she was passing out only water. we had to stopped giving her milk powder + breast milk as per the doc's advice. instead, had to switch over to soy milk which is lactose free. the whole of Friday her diaherrea continued and her fever was still going up and down. on Sat morning, she woke up in a cranky mood, tired and not her usual self. it wasnt a good sign, so we brought her to the doc again. doc said its a viral attack and there is no medication for it except to treat the symptoms and let the body fight. the diaherrea can last from 3-5 days and sometimes even up to 1 week!
well, rachel's diaherrea lasted up to 6 days! it only stopped on tuesday.
taking care of a sick baby is not easy at all... it's 1 huge challenging task....... physically and mentally tiring! rachel needed more attention than usual, she was more cranky than usual, didnt have appetite to eat, lau sai up to 7 to 8 times a day, vommitted, refused to eat medicine coz the medicine tasted awful, etc. *phew*
and then on Sunday, i ended up with diaherrea and fever too! had to take MC on Monday! i think the virus must have landed itself on me... my diaherrea lasted 5 days! super boh-lat.
but nevertheless, all is well now. Rachel and I have fully recovered. Praise God! we thank God for His healing.
