Blessed 1st bday Rachel!

Rachel turned 1 year old yesterday 20th April 2008. yes, 1 year has flown by since my dearest little girl came into the world. It only seemed like yesterday, i was lying on the bed in the freezing cold labour room, trying to cope with the contractions that were getting more and more unbearable.. after 9 long hours of labour pain, little Rachel came into the world at 12.02pm on 20th Apr 2007. It was such a joy to hear her first cry and to hold her in my arms. the feeling is indescribable.
and now, 1 year later, our little girl is 1 year old.

We celebrated her birthday by having a simple lunch with family and friends at our humble home. we catered the food... there was nasi kunyit and curry chicken, fried beehoon, fried spring rolls, curry puff, tuna egg bread rolls, sausages, pizza, mixed vegetables, blueberry cheese tarts, jelly, and fruits. forgot to take a close up photo of the food! here's the best photo of the food that we have..

and of course, not forgetting the birthday cake! a 2kg moist chocolate cake with a drawing of Elmo holding the number 1 from Jenni's cakehouse :) we chose Elmo because it's Rachel's fav character. she loves to watch Elmo sing and dance.
