Day 13 & 14
July 5th Sat
Family in Ipoh!! :):) Tairven, rachel, win & shane arrived in ipoh first, around 12.15pm. felt so good to hold Rachel in my arms again. She gladly let me carry her when she first saw me…but she was too busy looking at the new surroundings to call me ‘mama’. Hehehe… only after we got the room, she warmed up and then called me ‘mama’. Fed her porridge in the hotel and then we headed for lunch. Had Ipoh’s “nga choy kai fan” for lunch…they wanted to try. After lunch, balik hotel to rest. My parents and vian arrived around 3 plus. Rachel was in a cranky mood after she woke up from her nap…kept on crying…probably coz of the new surroundings. So brought her to the pool to swim….after that she was ok…she simply loved to swim...(no photos yet….)
Dinner – we went to eat Steamboat Buffet at his restaurant called MP (stands for MovenPeak). The food was good, the place was packed! Lots of variety…we all ate till we were stuffed!! After that we went to Ipoh Parade to jalan jalan. Got back to the hotel around 10.30pm. all of us were dead tired!
“This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it!” yes Lord thank You for today. Thank You for bringing my family safely to Ipoh and thank You for the time spent. Amen.
July 6th Sun
Rise and shine at 8am! Rachel’s our alarm clock! Hehe. She slept through the night. :)
Had tim sum for breakfast at Kao Lee Restaurant in Ipoh Garden. The tim sum was good…this place was recommended by friends…they say this place serves better tim sum than Foh San (the famous tim sum place in Ipoh town) and is much cleaner and not so crowded too! After that, we went back to Ipoh town to search for this famous place that sells the Ipoh famous salt-baked chicken. Its called “yim kuk kai” in Cantonese. We got lost so in the end we had to go back to the hotel to get directions. Even that also we got lost searching for the place! So many 1way streets in Ipoh! Finally managed to find the place. Rachel slept in the car and woke up only after we left that chicken shop. Hehe. After buying the chickens, then we went to search for this coffee shop that sells the famous caramel custard. The shop was packed with ppl!! The caramel custard was good though. Also tried the beef noodles and popiah from tht shop. After that balik hotel to rest.
Rachel was not sleepy so she was busy entertaining us with her antics in the room….walk here walk there, exploring everywhere in the room. She only fell asleep after she took her milk ard 3.30pm. in the evening, we went to Ipoh Parade again to buy some junk food (for their journey bck to Pg). stopped in Starbucks to have some coffee…after that went to Lou Wong to eat nga choy kai fan (yes again!) for dinner. After dinner, went back to the hotel to pack stuff and my family left Ipoh around 8pm. It was so heart wrenching to see them leave….was trying to be brave and not cry in front of rachel…but the moment I got into my room, cldnt help but burst into tears.. sigh. So sad that the weekend flew by so fast…. Its going to be another 5 more days before I get to see them again. But I thank God for the encouraging smses from my dear sisters in Christ... thank God it’s only 5 more days and no longer than that. In Him I will find strength to go through this! In Him I will take comfort! In Him I will find peace!
“Thank You dear Lord for the amazing weekend that You have blessed us with…thank You Abba Father for blessing me with a wonderful amazing family. I surrender them to You even as they travel back to Penang. Pray that You will grant them journey mercies and that they will arrive in Penang safely. Pray that You will bless us all with a great week ahead. In You Lord, I find my strength. Thank You Lord for Your faithfulness and love.” Amen.
