merdeka long weekend

backdated posts..havent had time to update blog la...

during the long merdeka weekend, we decided to go to the beach for a picnic. it has been ages since all of us went to the beach for a picnic. initially wanted to have a bbq by the beach, but since it has been raining almost everyday, we decided not to take the risk. so instead of bbq, we had a simple picnic. well, i know the beaches in Penang arent exactly an ideal place to have a picnic (dirty waters, etc) but then again, we've just got to be thankful for what we have. got beach better than no beach at all right?

thank God for clear skies. we got to the beach around 11am. yeah i know it's kinda late, but there were some delays here and there la...Vian made egg & luncheon meat sandwiches, Tairven bbq-ed cocktail sausages using our electric bbq grill at home the night before and Win & Shane brought junk food. And my dad brought along his tent! hahahaha. he was so excited about it... so we did set up the tent under a tree. it was a good thing that we set up the tent, coz after about an hour, the wind blew the rain clouds over, so it started drizzling!! but after a while, the drizzle got heavier, so we decided to pack up and go!

rachel definitely enjoyed herself tremendously... throwing sand all over the place and all over her body, putting seashells in her mouth to taste them, playing with the sea water (didnt let her swim in it though... but anyway, she was more interested in playing with sand). she was covered in sand from head to toe!

while everyone was busy setting up the tent, rachel was busy playing with sand and picking pine cones!

hmm... let's see whether the sea-shell taste good! mama is wondering whn rachel will stop simply putting things into her mouth! sigh.

after a while, she finally decided to give it a try! and boy, did she like the water! hehehe. yes yes i know the water aint exactly that clean, but oh well, it's not that she gets to go to the beach so often. anyway, we made sure we cleaned her well after that...

back to playing with sand...hmmm..i think i prefer pouring sand all over myself rather than playing in the seawater! hehe...

back to Ah Kong's house....zzzz..tired out from all the excitement..
