Trip to KL ( long weekend )

OK, let me warn you first that this is going to be an extremely long post as well as a backdated post! havent had time to update blog la.. anyways, here goes...

We were away from Penang for the long Deepavali weekend. Papa, mama and Rachel traveled down to KL for a short family holiday. We stayed over at a friend’s place…so nice of them to offer us a place to stay in their cosy apartment. Thank you, uncle Edwin & aunty Priscilla for letting us stay over! :) Rachel definitely enjoyed herself very much.......hehe..

We left Pg around 10plus in the morning. Rachel was very well behaved throughout the journey. She slept for about 30 minutes in the car and then entertained herself with her toys after she woke up. we made a short pit stop at the Gua Tempurung rest stop around 12.15pm to answer nature’s call and also to feed Rachel her porridge (yup, we woke up early in the morning to cook porridge for her.. hehe..) and also to let her run around and exercise her legs for awhile la…this particular rest area is actually quite nice.. it has a small “pondok” where ppl can have a small picnic..the area is quite shady and there is a small waterfall running beside the pondok.....anyway, after feeding her, then we continued our journey and Rachel slept again..this time for about 1 hour plus. Arrived at the Sg Buloh Jejantas ard 2.15pm to take our lunch at Burger King! :):)
After that headed straight to priscilla’s place.

Rachel was so excited to see so many toys in the house! Hahaha…. her shyness disappeared as she went straight for the toys! AND the main attraction was the slide!! Yup, there was a slide in the house and when Rachel saw it, she was absolutely overjoyed! Couldn’t stop climbing up and sliding down the slide!

We had dinner at home. Reuben & Joanne came over for dinner. All of us had a good time catching up and watching the kids play! Rachel was as usual busy with the slide, Joseph was playing/wrestling with reuben and Joy-Anne was happily and comfortably cuddled in Joanne’s arms.

Sunday
We attended the Sunday service at DUMC. Bumped into Melanie & Richard with sweet little Natalie..pleasant surprise.. J after service, the ladies and kids went home first while the guys went to tar pau lunch. Rachel slept in the car on the way back from church. she was totally knocked out...continued sleeping even as I carried her out from the car all the way to the apartment! She slept for about 1.5hours plus....must be tired out from the traveling on Saturday plus from all the playing!

We went to Sunway Pyramid shortly after all of us rested. Got there around 4pm… had tea at Wendys’ (since we’ve heard so much abt it…) while waiting for our friends to arrive. we had a shrimp burger and single quarter pound… the verdict : ok only la… Carl Junior has better, tastier burgers! Hehehe. Then headed to Starbucks to meet friends. We were too full to have any drink. Rachel was getting pretty cranky so tairven pushed her around on the stroller. After a short while, she fell asleep! Yes again! and she slept for another 45 minutes.

Later in the evening, we headed to Italiannies for dinner with another group of friends. Rachel simply enjoyed herself with the food there. she loved the bread and the pasta. We had a good time catching up with our dear friends. Got home around 10pm…guess what, because Rachel napped twice today, she was fully recharged and wasn’t sleepy at all although it was already 10pm! So guess what she did? Yup, headed straight for the slide, climb up, slide down, play with toys, etc! and in the end she only slept at 12 midnight! pengsan.

@Italiannies..... after a good nap, i'm now hungry!! mmm....where's the food??

Monday
Although she slept at midnight, she woke up at 7am! Everyone was still fast asleep…we left for Ikea at around 10.30am, got there just before 11am. After walking awhile, rachel fell asleep in the stroller so we decided to head straight for the café. Wanted to get a seat before the lunch crowd comes in. had a good meal of their Swedish meatballs and some deepavali special. Rachel woke up after we finished our lunch, so fed her lunch. Then went jalan jalan a bit, before tar-pauing the curry puffs and then headed home! Left around 2pm. Reached Pg around 6pm. We made only 1 stop as Rachel slept for about 1.5hours in the car!
All in all, it was a tiring weekend, but nevertheless it was a fun and a good one! :)
