20 months

Rachel turned 20 months old yesterday (Sat Dec 20th). Unfortunately she was sick :( it started off with fever on thursday evening, then friday, the running nose came. By friday evening, she was coughing and we could hear the phelgm. She still had slight fever on and off. I was also down with a cold at the same time!

On Saturday, Rachel's cough got worse (this time a lot more phelgm) and her nose was still running, so we thought we'd better take her to see the doctor. After all, we want her to get well before our upcoming family vacation. So after having lunch with Pastor & family, we headed to Hope Clinic to see the doctor. ( side track a bit...i noticed somehow rachel always fall sick close to the weekend..the past few times she was sick, we had to go to Hope instead of her usual paed at Adventist coz Adventist closes on Saturdays!)

Yup, so anyway, we got to Hope around 2pm. Doctor only came at 2.30pm. Rachel kept herself busy playing at the mini-playground at the clinic. There was a slide, rocking horses, etc.... She was having so much fun so much so that when it was her turn to see the doctor, she kept running out from the doctor's room to the playground! in the end to keep her inside the room, the doctor had to offer her chewable vit C! hahaha.... it was Dr Victor on duty. He said Rachel didnt look like she was sick! coz she was so super-active! hahaha.... anyways, doc says her throat was only slightly infected. He gave her the usual cold and cough medicine, fever medicine and a mild antibiotic. we told him we were travelling in a few days time so we wanted to prevent the throat from worsening, thus the mild antibiotic was prescribed. just 3-days course once a day.

after the visit to the doc, we headed home. it was been getting more and more difficult to get rachel to eat her medicine!! sigh. sometimes have to "bribe" her with cheese then only she will take!

yup, that's so much about how rachel's 20-month old bday was spent! hopefully with the medicine and lots of prayers, she'll recover before the holiday!
