TAIRVLYN: Singapore - Day 1 (23rd Dec 2008)

This post is way overdue. The trip was 1 month ago and now only I'm updating!! haha...

Ok, I shall skip the part on the “adventure” traveling on Air Asia flights which I have blogged about in one of my earlier posts.

So after all the ‘adventure’, we finally arrived in Sg at around 4.30pm. Thank God we didn’t have to wait long for the bags this time. (hmm…why cant Msia airports be as efficient as Sg airport??) We were starving by then, so we decided to grab a quick bite at Burger King… after that, we took the Changi Express (it’s a mini-van that can seat up to 9 persons I think..it’s about SGD50 for the whole van) to YMCA where we will be staying throughout the duration of our trip. Rachel was so excited to be on the ‘mini-van’. She just couldn’t sit still on my lap….the van was pretty spacious and she decided to clamber all over the place like a little worm!

Arrived at the hotel just before 6pm. Checked in. Rachel was so excited to see the room and soon enough, she was being very ‘kay-po” already -> picking up the phone pretending to make phone calls, climbing up and down the bed, running all over the room making all of us dizzy! Anyway, after a short rest, it was time for dinner.

Shane’s brother & family graciously invited us for dinner. We met them at the Cathay Restaurant at about 8pm. The restaurant is located inside the Cathay shopping mall which is just across the street from YMCA. Rachel slept in her stroller while we were walking to Cathay and continued sleeping until we were halfway through dinner! Had a good time chatting during dinner, the food (Chinese food) was quite nice....rachel enjoyed the glass noodle, she kept on asking for more. After dinner, we went jalan-jalan around the mall, nothing much to see la…
After that went back to hotel, showered but didn’t get to sleep till midnight coz Rachel was hyper again and was clambering all over the room. Had to force her to go to bed in the end!
