Susan & Jeff's wedding
This is a backdated post. About 3 weeks ago, we made a short trip to KL to attend a dear friend's wedding. We drove down on Sat morning and came back on Sunday!! Was a very tiring trip!!
Sat
We left Penang ard 9+am. Rachel was very well behaved during the journey. She kept herself entertained for 1 hour before she fell asleep, then she slept for 1 whole hour plus. We only made 1 stop at the Tapah rest area when Rachel woke up from her nap. After that it was all the way to Damansara. Reached around 1plus. Checked into the Royale Bintang Hotel Damansara (its smack right in the Curve, RM245++ per night). Since we were only staying 1 night, I thought the rate was ok and the thing is the location is so strategic and convenient. Met up with Lu Hsun and Carol for lunch in some restaurant at the Curve (cant remember the name). Food was good but unfortunately the service there was terrible! Too lazy to elaborate but I don’t think we’ll be heading back to that restaurant ever again.
After that, went jalan jalan in the Curve for a while before crossing over to Ikea to have ice cream! yum yum. :) cheap and good. Lu & Carol went to do their shopping at Ikea while we headed back to the hotel to get some rest. However, our cheeky little girl didnt want to nap! She busied herself by turning the whole hotel room upside down!! Walk here, walk there, climb up and down the sofa, play with the phone, etc…. she was sleepy but refused to sleep. In the end, had to use the cane to threaten her then only she finally slept.

Highlight of the night
The wedding dinner was in a seafood restaurant in Bangsar. It was a lovely dinner. The photos of the church wedding held earlier in the morning) was projected on the screen. The decoration was so beautiful. And of course, the bridge and groom looked gorgeous and handsome. It was so good to be able to meet up with some friends. Rachel was a darling that night….everyone at our table commented that she was so well behaved and can sit through the whole dinner. Well, she only asked to get up from her chair about 2 times throughout the whole dinner. I told them that she can sit through because she had FOOD to keep her occupied! Hahahaha. When she was released from her chair, she played around our table and didn’t really wander far away. But the thing is she kept on wanting me to carry her and then put her down again, then carry again. It was tiring for me. But overall she was really very well behaved and I am so proud of her! Well done, rachel darling. Muax.
Sunday
Breakfast at the hotel. The food was nothing to shout about.
After breakfast, shopped at Ikea. Bought a kid’s table that came with 2 chairs and some toys for her. Then lunch @ the Ikea restaurant. We simply cannot miss the chance of having Ikea’s famous Swedish meatballs! Hehe Food that we had : a plate of meatballs with fries, jumbo sausages with mash potatoes and rachel had fish burger with fries! Actually she ate more fries than the burger itself!! We also tar-pau the curry puffs from downstairs to bring back to Penang! Haha.
Then we went back to the hotel to check out. And then it was bye bye KL.
We got onto the highway around 2.45pm. rachel slept almost immediately. But because it was raining heavily she didnt sleep long coz the sudden noise of the raindrops hitting the windscreen woke her up. I think she probably slept for abt 30-45 minutes only.
Our testimony of God's goodness and protection
An accident happened right before our eyes on the highway. It was raining and there was this car that was tailing us very closely behind. In fact, according to tairven, that car and another car was driving pretty fast and recklessly. So tairven decided to give way to the cars. And the next thing we know, one of the cars hit another car and both cars went spinning. Thank God it happened quite a far distance ahead of us, by the time both cars came to a halt they were very near us. And we thank God that the cars didn’t spinned and stopped into our lane. If that happened, then we wouldn’t have been able to stop in time! We were shaken by the incident and we can only be thankful to our Heavenly Father for His protection, mercy and love. We acknowledge that it is by His protection that we are safe. Thank You, Father.
Reached Penang around 6something. It was good to be home. My parents brought dinner over. Rachel was excited to be home, she must have missed her toys coz she went straight for her toy box and started taking out all the toys! Haha. We knocked off to bed early that night as we were all tired out from the trip…
Here are the photos. Enjoy!
